Today in Covenant Theology we discussed the place of Noah and the flood in redemption story. There were a couple of things that I had never seen before.

Genesis 5:28-29 He fathered a son and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the LORD has cursed this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”

What did Noah bring forth out of the ground?

Genesis 9:20 Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard.

He made wine. Take that teetotalers.

Also when God said that he would set his bow in the heavens as a reminder of his promise to never wipe out all living things, the word bow is the word for the weapon. It never occurred to me that the word meant that. So you have the sense that God is laying down his weapons.
