Great post today by Michael Bird on the question of whether Christians are saved sinners or saints who sometimes sin. His contention is that we are saints who sometimes sin. Bird links to a lengthy article by Robert Saucy making that point. It is pretty good except the author believes that Romans 7 refers to a Christian whereas I think it is clear that it does not (I’m sure I’ll write a post defending this view sometime). Regardless both posts are worth reading as this subject affects how we view ourselves. Are we worms disgusting in God’s sight or are we his beloved saints who sometimes stumble?
